Failed Blogger

Well, it looks like I'm no good at this blogging thing, since it's been a week from my last entry. Oh well. I'll just change the name to Failed Blogger Mom.

I couldn't see out of my window for a few days. We had a day where the tempurate rose just enough to blow some freezing rain in. That freezing rain then did what it was supposed to do, and froze to both the windows in the front of my house.

I like to look out the window, watch the elementary school comings and goings. Kids at recess, parents picking up and dropping off. I can probably tell most parents on this island more about their kids' relationships than the teachers, just by watching the dynamics of kids at recess. Looking out the windown reminds me there is life still happening on this island, because 6 days out of 7 I stay locked up in the house. Not by choice, incidentally.

Boredom here is rampant. I can honestly see why kids get into so much trouble. There just isn't anything to do. I combat boredom with reading blogs, and now, writing a blog. But we'll see how that goes. Right now, this is just kind of a journal for me, that people may or may not stumble upon.

I should be using this time to read my Bible, strengthen my faith, but as soon as I pick it up, someone will wake up. A nose will need to be wiped, a diaper will need to be changed, a dispute about Batman will need to be settled. Thus is the life of a stay at home mom and babysitter/ failed blogger.

First blog post, ever.

Okie dokie folks, this is it. I'm officially a blogger. I suppose time will tell how successful I am at it.

I've loved writing since, forever, but I didn't write much post high school (and even then I didn't do much) because of sheer laziness. Well, sometimes I can blame my husband or my kids, but mostly it's just laziness. What exactly makes a successful blog? Witty statements and pictures of food? I doubt I'll take pictures of much (any?) food. I don't like cooking. Today I will be baking cupcakes for Chy's birthday, even though technically it was yesterday. Nicholas had to work last night, so we are postponing cupcake eating until tonight.

Maybe I'll come back and add a picture of my delightfully artistic cupcakes decorated beautifully with my angelic children smiling in the background. Or maybe not.
